While immersing yourself in the wonders of Cleland’s natural bush environment, you can see and discover more than 130 species of native wildlife. TOUR DETAILS Be amazed with the views from Mount Lofty Summit - before arriving at the wildlife park, we take a short stop at Mount Lofty Summit to enjoy the magnificent panorama over Adelaide. At approximately 710m, the summit is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills with uninterrupted views to the Gulf St. Vincent and as far as the eye can see north and south along the coastline. Experience the Cleland Wildlife Park difference - this 35-hectare natural bush setting provides a unique open space environment with very few enclosures. It is home to over 130 species of native animals and is one of only a few places in the world where you can hold a koala. Cleland Wildlife Park is well known for its management and care in the health and wellbeing of the animals. Choose your Koala encounter * - get up close to Australia’s iconic Koala! Your entry fee includes the koala ‘close up’ experience (meet, talk to, & photograph a koala). An optional koala ‘hold’ experience is available for an additional fee from AUD$33.00 pp. The koala ‘hold’ experience must be pre-booked directly through the wildlife park. Please be aware of tour timings before booking a hold experience. The approximate time spent at the park: 11.00am to 3.00pm Walk among the free roaming animals - as you explore the park and follow the self-discovery trails, find an abundance of native wildlife and walk among the free roaming animals in their natural environment. Explore the lively wetlands where the pelicans, cormorants and water birds live. See kangaroos, emus, dingoes, wallabies, Tasmanian devils and many more! Enjoy an immersive experience - engaging with the park’s friendliest inhabitants provide a truly immersive experience. The best way to get up close to the kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos is by hand feeding them with the included animal food. Remember to save some for the emus and waterfowl as you make your way around the park! And do so much more! - Don’t forget the interactive keeper talks; it is a great way to learn about and see the animals in action! The Ocean to Outback Interpretive Centre provides an opportunity to learn about South Australia’s diverse ecosystems whilst viewing the nocturnal animals, small mammals and reptiles – you may even choose the reptile hold experience! if temperatures are forecast to be 32 degrees and above at Mount Barker. - Tours will not operate on days that are rated a catastrophic fire
day in Mount Lofty. - We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, a sun hat,
sunscreen and sunglasses. In the winter months an umbrella and/or rain jacket are recommended. Don’t forget to bring a full reusable drink bottle and your camera! - *This tour is partially guided. One of our guides will be with the
group for the first part of the tour through Cleland Wildlife Park, the second half of the tour will allow customers to self-explore the park at their own leisure. - Cruise ship shore excursions – If
you are arriving on a cruise ship and wish to book this tour there is an additional fee of $30 per booking for pick-up from Port Adelaide. Pick-up times will be approximately 9.00am and drop-off 4.30pm. As you would be joining a public shared tour we cannot offer alternate pick-up/drop-off times. Experience the vibrant Riverbank Precinct - starting from the heart of the City, cycle to the bustling Riverbank Precinct, home to significant and historic buildings, sports events and public spaces. Sights include the Festival Centre, Elder Park, the Adelaide Convention Centre, the historic rowing sheds and the new $40 million landmark Riverbank Bridge that links the world-famous Adelaide Oval with the city.
Ride the serene River Torrens Linear Trail - enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the river, parks and wetlands as you ride through an 1800’s cemetery, cross under viaducts and bridges and appreciate the serenity of nature in this continually changing landscape. As the river trail comes to an end, start to feel the ocean breeze and soon be amazed by the breathtaking coastal views. The waterfalls, gorges and 500 hectares of natural bushland in Morialta have provided a popular escape for locals over the past 100 years. This tour provides an active and immersive experience that enriches the understanding of nature and the importance of looking after it.
Bushwalking wilderness - start your morning adventure along the Morialta walking trails as the bush wakes from its night slumber. As you follow the trails, discover amazing rock faces, gorges and seasonal waterfalls. Witness the dawn colours bounce on the spectacular rugged vistas and capture the sense of nature while discovering the natural wonders of this national reserve.
Admire native animals in the wild - Morialta is the best place in Adelaide where you can see koalas in the wild! It offers a unique biodiversity where many native animals can be spotted including the occasional kangaroo or echidna. The creeks, rock pools and the higher slopes of the Gorge offer a perfect habitat to several species of frogs and small lizards such as geckos, skinks, and dragons.
Visit all three waterfalls - the seasonal waterfalls along Fourth Creek are one of the best known features of the park. Morialta Falls and Second Falls are the grandest, each cascading over sheer quartzite cliffs. Nestled at the end of the trail is the less visited but most tranquil Third Falls – be stunned by its peaceful and natural setting and take the time to listen to the softly cascading water.
See amazing birdlife and wildflowers - listen to the sounds and observe the many native birds such as the Superb Fairy-wren, rare Golden Whistler, Rainbow Lorikeet and the iconic Laughing Kookaburra. Use the supplied binoculars and be amazed by how many species you can discover. Every winter and spring the park is abundant with native wildflowers including many delicate and colourful orchid species.

TOUR DETAILSA scenic escape - Absorb the stunning scenery of the Fleurieu Peninsula and ease into your day’s adventure on a scenic drive to the south coast. Heading southbound you will enter the picturesque countryside, with rolling hills, gum trees and grape vines as far as the eye can see, before arriving in the coastal town Victor Harbor.
Visit Granite Island - On arrival at Victor Harbor revitalise with a stroll along the iconic causeway to the historic Granite Island. Be amazed by the breathtaking ocean views and nature of the local area. You may even see the local horse drawn tram crossing the causeway alongside you.
Spot some local marine life - Meet your captain for an exhilarating 90-minute Southern Ocean Adventure. Witness spectacular views of the Victor Harbor shoreline Waitpinga Cliffs and Granite Island. As you cruise along look out for an array of seabirds and with a bit of luck, the playful local dolphins may even pop up to say hello! During the winter months you may even been lucky enough to spot some Southern Right Whales.
Relax in wine country - After your boat ride, head to McLaren Vale, one of South Australia’s magnificent wine regions. Visit the famous d'Arenberg winery for lunch and have time to explore the cube. Architecturally designed to look like a giant Rubik's Cube, this famous winery has 5 levels each designed to entice and excite the senses including features such as a wine sensory room, virtual fermenter and many other tactile experiences in the Alternate Realities Museum.
Visit a biodiverse winery - Arrive at the eco-friendly Gemtree Winery and learn about the biodiverse wetlands that have been restored to maintain an ecological balance. Delight your senses at the cellar door to finish off the afternoon with a Vintner’s Platter and glass of Gemtree regional wine while admiring the expansive views across the vineyard. Starting out on the Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike, trek to the summit to enjoy the panoramic views overlooking the Adelaide Plains and Gulf St. Vincent. Then follow the trail to Cleland Wildlife Park to spend the rest of the day engaging with some of Australia’s most unique and curious wildlife. Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Summit Hike - a short scenic drive from the city takes you direct to the trailhead of Adelaide’s most popular hike. Arriving around 8.30am for an introduction and orientation from your tour guide, you will then set off with your guide following the trails at your pace. Depending upon your rest and interest stops along the way expect to take between 1 to 2 hours to arrive at the Summit. Cleland Wildlife Park Experience - just down from the Summit is another beautiful bush track leading to the Cleland Wildlife Park. IMPORTANT INFORMATION - This hike is graded as hard. The Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty Hike involves steep sections and uneven surfaces and a good level of fitness and mobility is required. The hike is approximately 2 – 3 hours return (7.8km).
- The tour has a minimum age requirement on 12 and is not recommended for young children. All children 12 – 17 years must be accompanied by a fare paying adult.
- We recommend wearing comfortable walking/hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses and bring a small lightweight backpack for personal items. Bring a full reusable water bottle which can be refilled for free at Mount Lofty Summit with fresh spring water.
- Entry fee includes the Koala ‘Close Up’ experience (meet, talk to and photograph a koala). An optional koala ‘hold’ experience is available for an additional fee from AUD $33.00pp. The koala hold experience cannot be pre-booked.
- Please note that due to animal welfare regulations, the koala experiences can be cancelled by the park without notice. Also note they do not operate on days forecast above 32 degrees Celsius (Mount Barker). Covid restrictions may also temporarily affect the availability of ALL animal encounters/experiences.

Challenge yourself on Adelaide’s favourite hike! This tough, yet rewarding guided hike takes you from the serenity of Waterfall Gully and along the trails of Cleland Conservation Park to the summit at Mount Lofty. At 710m witness stunning panoramic views over-looking the Adelaide plains and Gulf St Vincent. - Start the day fresh, active and inspired! In an area abundant with native wildlife you will hike past waterfalls, along streams and follow the gully ridges. Immerse yourself in the natural
environment and be sure to soak up the negative ions as you pass by the waterfalls and flowing streams to feel even more invigorated. - Return transport direct to the trail head provides hassle free and easy access to this popular trail. Upon arrival at the trail head be greeted by your tour guide and get ready to start the hike to the Summit. Your guide will provide you with a short introduction and orientation before guiding you on the hike.
- At the summit there will be time to admire the stunning views across Adelaide and beyond. Then treat yourself to an energising coffee and snack at the Summit Café (at own expense) before taking the return route back to the trail head.

TOUR DETAILS Breathe the fresh morning air at Waterfall Gully - a short scenic drive from the city takes you direct to the trailhead of Adelaide’s most popular hike. Arriving around 8.30am, be amazed by your first sight of the spectacular First Falls sparkling in the morning sunshine. Depending upon your interest stops along the way, expect to take between 1 to 2 hours to arrive at the Summit. Appreciate the serenity of nature with a morning hike - fully immerse yourself in the environment and sense the wilderness while listening to the sounds of the native birdlife. Detect the distinctive scents of the eucalyptus trees as the 3.9km trail climbs past waterfalls, along streams and gully ridges. Keep a keen eye out for sleepy koalas high in the gum trees, small lizards or even a kangaroo grazing in the bush! Be rewarded with mind-blowing views - sense the feeling of height as you reach the summit and be rewarded with breathtaking views over Adelaide and beyond. See the city buildings, parklands and iconic Adelaide Oval, look out across the plains to the Airport, the coastal town of Glenelg and the far reaches of Port Adelaide. On a clear day, you may even sight Kangaroo Island! Re-energise at the Summit Café - the Café is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or brunch (own expense) while admiring the views. Be sure to take some time to learn some interesting facts and history about the Summit before following your guide back down to Waterfall Gully. The return hike should take around 1 hour.
